Known Issues
The list of known issues concerning the Sitecore Media Facilities article.
- Move, rename and delete operations on media items as well as files and directories under MediaFolder can have predictable but undesirable effects. This means e.g. that moving, renaming or deleting a media item will NOT move, rename or delete the corresponding file on disk. Moving, renaming or deleting a file on disk will NOT move, rename or delete the corresponding media item, and the path property will also not be updated.
- For information on how to convert database media to file-based media and vice versa please refer to the following page:
http://marketplace.sitecore.net/en/Modules/Media_Conversion_Tool.html. - Attempting to create too many items in MediaFolder may overwhelm and crash ASP.NET; create media in small batches while monitoring logs until a reasonable import threshold has been established for a given hardware configuration.
- Where content management is separated from content delivery, file-based media must be replicated such as with the Staging module.
